The most well-known and authentically reported supplication for entering the home is narrated by the Companion Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him). He reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
The specific dua that fulfills this teaching is: "Bismillah, wa salamu 'ala Rasulillah. Allahumma inni as'aluka khayral-mawlaji wa khayral-makhraji. Bismillahi walajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa 'ala Allahi rabbina tawakkalna." However, the most concise and widely reported version from the hadith of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) is:
Transliteration: Allahumma inni as'aluka khayral-mawlaji wa khayral-makhraji. Bismillahi walajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa 'ala Allahi rabbina tawakkalna.
Meaning: "O Allah, I ask You for the best of entering and the best of exiting. In the name of Allah we enter, and in the name of Allah we exit, and upon Allah, our Lord, we rely."

"When a man enters his house and remembers Allah at the time of entering and at the time of eating, the Shaytan says: 'You have no place to spend the night and no dinner.'"
